Once you see Montreal botanical garden you will be in complete awe.
Founded during the Great Depression in 1931, this botanical garden is considered one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. There are plenty of things you can see on 190 acres. The most attractive are definitely huge “living sculptures”. These amazing sculptures are created by artists from around the world. They use wire and wood frames to make different human or animal shapes. The plants that are placed inside the frames are pruned and trimmed as they grow. The result are these magnificent gardens.
There are also many themed gardens, like Chinese or Japanese one. The Chinese garden features beautiful bonsai collection and gorgeous Chinese flora and fauna. In the Japanese garden you can see a large Koi pond and an exhibit on Japanese tea. There is also a section with Canadian plants, such as Maple and Pine trees and traditional Native American artwork.
Though there is an entry fee you have to pay, it’s worth every penny. The whole area is so beautiful and peaceful. Vivid colors, aromatic smell and lush landscape will transport you to a different world. If you love nature, you can spend a perfect day here with your family.
The best time to visit Montreal botanical garden is in summer. The plants are blooming and everything’s magical.
