Tourists usually take shots in front of the world’s most popular attractions. But not the two daredevil from Russia and Ukraine. They prefer to climb them first.
Vitaliy Raskalov (21) and Vadim Makhorov (25) have been working on the Ontheroofs project dedicated to urban exploration. After pyramids in Giza and a number of skyscrapers in China, they went to Brazil in search of a fresh challenge. They chose the highest spot in Rio, a famous landmark – a statue of the Christ the Redeemer.
Even though the stunt took place in May this year, the footage has been released only recently. They literally sneaked into the statue during the night. The two daredevils climbed up the stairs of the 125-feet high statue, until they reached an opening on the Christ’s shoulder. The images they captured from above are incredible. And the view is absolutely spectacular.
