Product designer Danielle Baskin recently came up with the idea to custom print your face on respiratory masks that will work with your phone’s facial recognition features.

Sounds like a joke, but not really. It is very important to protect ourselves. With the outbreak of many new viruses recently like Corona virus disease, also known as Covid-19, these types of masks may become more necessary than ever.

In case you are sick and must wear a mask, it will no longer be a problem to access your phone. With your face printed on it everything will be possible now.

How are these facial recognition medical masks created?

“After uploading your face, we use computational mapping to convert your facial features into an image printed onto the surface of N95 surgical masks without distortion. Our printer uses inks made of natural dyes. It’s non-toxic and doesn’t affect breathability. You can use your mask for everyday life as a barrier for airborne particle droplets,” said Baskin

The facial recognition masks went viral on social media last week.

“The most surprising thing to me is how this spread globally so quickly. People in South Korea, Latvia, France, and China reached out to me within a few days.” said Danielle.
